Roman Blinds

Our made to measure Roman Blinds are crafted using the highest quality components and our talented in-house workroom. The roman blind tape securely holds each fibreglass rod in place to create the elegant folds. Each tape is machine stitched with a single line across the blind width for enhanced stability and durability. We use an aluminium bottom bar to add weight and ensuring a sleek, professional appearance.
When fully up the blind panel can still measure between 20-30cm in length. Be sure to keep that in mind when choosing to fit inside or outside the window recess.

Roller Blinds

We have a premium partnership with Regal Blinds for our made to measure roller blinds. These are available as Recess Size or Blind Size (also known as pin size). The fabric rolls around the barrel at the top to help minimise how much of the window is obscured as much as possible. If preferred you can add a 70mm cassette with fabric insert to style the top of the window.

Essential Measuring Tips – Always use a metal tape measure for accuracy, as fabric or plastic tapes can stretch and lead to measurement errors.

Before placing your order, contact us to check stock levels for your chosen fabric. Delivery is usually 2-4 weeks to a standard UK address from a confirmed order (subject to stock).

It will be necessary to fit the blind outside the recess if:
*** The recess is less than 7.5cm (3″) deep (to ensure the blind clears the handles)
*** The window is not straight ie. The width or height varies by more than 2.5cm (1″) (to avoid too much light seeping through)
*** The window opens inwards

INSIDE RECESS MEASUREMENT

To be sure of the best possible fit, take time to measure your window carefully.

Measuring the width

Measure the width of your window recess from wall to wall. Take measurements at three different points just in case your window is not square and write down the smallest measurement. This measurement is called ‘Recess Size’ (See Fig. 1). Our workroom will make a small deduction of 1.5cm off the width measurement provided for clearance. This will ensure your blind can operate smoothly and fit within the recess.

Measuring the drop

Measure the height of your window recess from top to sill. Take measurements at three different points just in case your window is not square and write down the smallest measurement.

IMPORTANT – It’s important that you carefully measure your windows to ensure your Roman blinds fit correctly. If you are in any doubt, please be sure to check again. By supplying these measurements you take full responsibility for the finished size of your Roman blinds.

OUTSIDE RECESS MEASUREMENTS

To be sure of the best possible fit, take time to measure your window carefully.

Measuring the width

Measure the width that you would like your Roman blind. This measurement is called ‘Blind Size’ (See Fig. 2). We suggest that the blind extends approx. 10cm at either side and above and below the recess.

Measuring the drop

Measure the length that you would like your Roman blind.

Your blind will be made to your given sizes.

BLIND FIXING / INSTALLATION HEIGHT

We ask for the fixing / installation height for your made to measure roman blind so we can ensure the chain is made compliant with current legislation. This is the measurement from where the track will be fit to the floor. This measurement is still required if the blind is being fit inside a recess or above a countertop (fig 3).

New Child Safety legislation EN13120:2009 + A1:2014 states the loop of the Blind chain must be 60cm off the floor.

We will aim for the chain to be a similar length to the blind drop subject to the above regulations being met
